Giants of Africa uses basketball as a tool to educate and empower youth across Africa—transforming underutilized spaces into vibrant hubs of opportunity. Founded on the belief that every child deserves a safe place to dream, the organization's courts have become cornerstones of connection, learning, and growth.

This year, Kensington contributed $280,000, bringing total support to $730,174. The year marked the opening of four basketball courts across three countries: Rwanda, Morocco, and South Africa. Each space serves as more than a venue for sport—it's a place where teamwork, leadership, and confidence take root.

In Rubavu, Rwanda, the new court has become a thriving hub for youth development, hosting games, camps, and workshops. Coach Nsengiyumva Elie shared, "More than just sports, it's now a place that promotes discipline, teamwork, and leadership." Player Matonde Kellia added, "Now girls like me feel confident to come, play, and be part of something big."

In Cape Town, South Africa, a new double court opened at the Cape Peninsula University of Technology. In Morocco, permit delays have slowed public access, though the local team trains six days a week. In Nairobi, Kenya, Kensington's original courts continue engaging youth, with at least 1,132 participants interacting this year. Kensington also sponsored youth teams from the Democratic Republic of the Congo to attend the 2025 GOA Festival in Kigali, offering unity and hope through sport.

The Umoja basketball court is a beacon of hope, inspiring us to work within our communities, particularly with young boys and girls. We are hopeful that we can develop more great sports facilities in the future.
